QUARANT’ ORE DEVOTIONS

The ‘Forty Hours Devotion’ to the Blessed Sacrament was an annual event in lots of parishes up and down the land. Sadly it fell by the wayside, but in more recent years it is enjoying a revival and parishes are once again offering this devotion.

The devotion in our parish will run up to and including the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the dedication of one of the churches in our parish.

Each day the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for solemn adoration after Mass. The church will remain open during the day for visits to the Blessed Sacrament and private prayer. Each evening there will be a Holy Hour and Sermon given by Fr Ian Kelly to close the day. On the final day – the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart we will celebrate Mass to close the devotions
